Wax on, Wax off

My internet is out. AT&T seems to think that they sold me a bad modem and are overnighting me one. Unfortunately, it has been out since Wednesday and they only discovered why Saturday. At least we hope this will fix the problem. Until then, I am borrowing a siganl from one of my lovely neighbors.

I changed the look of the blog a bit. I am feeling very fallish so I thought leaves would be a good place to start. I also changed the "tagline" (I think that is what it is called?) I usually just throw a quote up there, but "Life isn't always glamorous. Sometimes its just about getting from point A to Point B with your wallet and good health intact." really speaks to me. I have been blogging here for 7 years and the blog has seen many incarnations, but this current one seems to fit the current season of our lives.

Things are changing. I don't always do well with change but these changes are good changes. Being away from family for three months really made us all realize what is important. The changes reflect that. There is a calm and peace in the house that we haven't had in a long time, if at all.

I don't get so mad if things aren't done perfectly the first time. Marty is spending less time at work, and is instead trusting that he has trained his staff to do their jobs well - and he lets them do them. (Of course, he still spends a lot of time there, but not nearly as much as before.) The boys enjoy spending time with each other. Their current fascination is a computer game that they are all playing separately, but spend hours talking to each other about, offering tips, strategizing, etc. Alex is actively asking for his school work and is completing it all perfectly.

I am trying to be less self deprecating. Tonight when I was picking the boys up from youth group, I ran in to a mom that I had not seen since March or so. She commented on my weight loss and while we were talking about it, she stumbled over a few words and then blurted out "You really are a beautiful woman!" Now normally, I would have made a joke about her needing glasses or a good nap, but this time I just said thank you.

Enough waxing philosophical. Ethan made dinner tonight and it is time to help set the table.

Life truly is awesome.
